No two roofs are the same; every roof renovation has its own unique requirements. The simpler the shape, the lower the installation cost.
The basic formal variations of pitched roofs, i.e. the roof types:
-
- gable roof;
- mono-pitch (lean-to) roof;
- hip roof;
- Dutch gable (gablet) roof;
- truncated hip roof;
- tent roof;
- tower roof;
- conical roof;
- cupola roof;
- mansard or French roof;
- basilica roof;
- sawtooth or shed roof;
- cross roof
Flat roofs also belong here.
The installation costs of the works also depend on what the roof covering is:
- slate,
- asphalt shingle,
- onduline,
- tile,
- corrugated fibre-cement sheet.
Moreover, in some cases demolition, thermal insulation or a 1- or 2-layer waterproofing system may also be involved, so it is very difficult to give a per-square-metre price. After a telephone conversation in which we receive basic information about the roof, possibly photos and dimensions by e-mail, it is already easier to give an approximate value. But for an exact quote, a free on-site survey is absolutely necessary.
