At Tető Mesterfokon Kft., we waterproof flat roofs using a comprehensive, customer-focused approach. Once a quotation has been accepted, we start the work as soon as possible, ensuring high standards and customer satisfaction. We mainly operate in Central and Western Hungary, but we also welcome enquiries from the eastern parts of the country.
Free condition survey and tailored quotation
The first step in our service is a free on-site survey. Our specialist examines the condition of the roof, analyses it and then prepares a tailored quotation. Once the quotation has been accepted, we start the work as soon as possible.
Thermal insulation and waterproofing for flat roofs
When insulating and waterproofing flat roofs, we pay particular attention to precise, thorough workmanship to ensure a durable, robust result and protect the building’s condition over the long term.
The waterproofing work includes the following steps:
- Surface preparation: cleaning the roof and carrying out minor repairs.
- Priming: applying a cold bitumen primer to ensure proper adhesion between the new and existing waterproofing materials.
- Replacing the roof drains: removing the old drains and installing new, larger-diameter drains for effective water drainage.
- Installing the waterproofing membrane: torch-applying the waterproofing membrane to the prepared surface to ensure full-surface adhesion and 100% watertightness.
- Waterproofing vertical surfaces: waterproofing rooftop structures and parapet walls to prevent water ingress.
- Installing breather vents: ensuring adequate ventilation in accordance with professional guidelines.
Two-layer thermal insulation system
We install the thermal insulation in two layers, using load-bearing EPS 100 insulation boards, which we mechanically fix to the roof deck. This method prevents thermal bridges and allows us to form the required roof slope during installation, ensuring proper drainage. The next layer is a felt-faced bituminous vapour-control membrane. We mechanically fasten it to the roof deck with anchors and bond it to the thermal insulation with polystyrene adhesive. We torch-apply the final waterproofing layer to provide a leak-free, stable, walkable flat roof.
Materials used and warranty
We use only the highest-quality 5 mm modified bitumen membranes, reinforced with a strong, flexible polyester mesh. The membranes resist UV radiation and the elements, and have a thick ceramic-granule surface finish. We provide a warranty of up to 10 years on our Class I workmanship.
